Meet the Founder

Brooke MT Interiors was founded in January 2023, after Brooke spent more than nine years working at four different design studios. Those years gave her the opportunity to learn the industry, develop her own design voice, and eventually gain the confidence to do things a little differently.

Motherhood played a large part in that decision. After becoming a mom, Brooke began thinking differently about what she wanted her career and everyday life to look like. She wanted to continue doing work she loved while building a business that allowed her to be equally present for her family. That season ultimately gave her the push to step out on her own and create Brooke MT Interiors.

What began with referrals and social media inquiries has grown into a full-service interior design studio, giving Brooke the opportunity to work with clients who trust her vision and value a thoughtful, highly personalized approach to creating their homes. 

Brooke describes her approach to design as luxurious yet approachable. She loves beautiful, high-quality materials and finishes, but motherhood has also shaped the way she thinks about how a home needs to function. A home has to withstand real life - kids, pets, holidays, spilled drinks, & everything in between. Her work is layered and intentional, creating spaces that feel elevated without ever feeling too precious to actually live in.

With an expertise in material and finish selections, space planning, and 3D visualization, Brooke helps clients see the complete vision for their home before it comes to life. Every detail is considered not only for how it looks, but for how it will function and feel for the people who live there.

Because for Brooke, the finished photos are only a small piece of what interior design is about. It’s creating the backdrop for people’s lives..the kitchen where they’ll host their first holiday, the dining room where birthdays will be celebrated, the living room everyone piles into for movie night, and the home their children will remember growing up in. As a mom herself, getting to create those spaces for other families is one of the most meaningful parts of her work.

Today, Brooke works from her design studio located inside a historic home in the heart of North Liberty, Iowa. She remains intentionally selective with the projects she takes on, allowing her to stay closely involved throughout the design process while continuing to build a business that leaves room for the role she values most - being a mom.
From a 20-year-old design assistant to a mom of three, founding Brooke MT Interiors, opening her own studio, and continuing to grow the business and body of work around it, Brooke still feels like she’s just getting started. At the center of it all remains the same goal: creating beautiful homes for people to actually live in.

Luke Mennen-Talsma

Chief Operating Officer

Luke joined Brooke MT Interiors to take on the business side of the studio, allowing Brooke to devote more of her time to design and her clients. With over nine years of experience as a data and analytics consultant, he brings a strategic, systems-minded approach to the studio's daily operations and long-term growth.

 Behind the scenes, Luke oversees business operations, technology, financial management, and project coordination. From managing budgets and timelines to streamlining client proposals, refining workflows, supporting social media content, and exploring new ventures, he helps ensure the business runs efficiently while maintaining the thoughtful, personalized experience clients have come to expect.

 As Brooke's husband and business partner, Luke also plays an important role in shaping the studio's future. Together, they share a commitment to growing Brooke MT Interiors intentionally, building a business that not only creates beautiful spaces but also leaves room for what matters most - their family.
